    welded diff?

im thinking about picking up another Escort GT "BG chassis" and plan on beating the crap out of it.... i was wondering if anyone has had any success at welding the diff, and it lasting at all? i know its asking for trouble, but is it going to give out after a hundred miles, or will it last a few thousand.... yeah, sure ill probably be doing rev limiter launches every now and again.... but all the transmissions ive blown have been due to the spider gears over heating, from one wheel peel's

all your doing is moving the stress from one week point to another.

the diff will last forever, because 3rd will 'splode from the shockloads that use to be relieved by the one tire fires.

Maybe a Phantom Grip would help? Seems to me it'll help your problem a bit better than welding that **** together.

phantom grip will kill a trans faster then without one. not to mention they feel like ass to drive with one. i sadly own one. i regretted that pretty quickly after the first drive. def save your money unless its a drag car that you arent driving on a daily.

Quaife, Mfactory, guru, mazdaspeed. and there are a few other's also. those are just the ones i can think of off hand. ive used the quaife, and thats a sweet sweet unit! drivability is actually even better then a open diff. and i just purchased a Mfactory lsd myself, but havent had a chance to install it yet. but have heard some really good things. if it matches my experience with the quaife, ill be more then excited.

How about for a dirt circle track? Would it work good for that, so that I get more traction through the corners?

I live my life a quarter pounder at a time. And for those 500 calories or more, I'm free. I need FRIES! Two of them. The big ones. Oh, and I need them tonight. You're lucky the double shot of BBQ sauce didn't blow the seam on your nugget box. There she is, 2 pounds of pure beef. My dad ate it in 9.0 seconds flat. Check it out, it's like this. If I lose, winner takes my happy meal. But if I win, I take the burger and the toy. To some people, that's more important.
