What needs to be done? the timing belt?

Get a whole new timing component kit with new belt and a normal hydraulic tensioner... problem solved..

    KL with MTBT= fail

7th timing belt. i replaced the cam gears & put in another OEM tensioner after the 4th one.
IMHO it needs another KL motor & to piss off with this one

I say GTX setup, why? because it'll have nice low end power so it won't be a drag driving an auto trans, and your mpg should be pretty decent.

Worse case scenario is you have to run 2 ECUs, bp26 and the ATX BP ecu to control the transmission. big whoop lol

EDIT: I'll chime in about the KL as well, could never get the idle proper on the thing, and ever sensor, vac line and gasket checked out. Thing would still miss at idle. Also had to replace the alt tensioner 3 times since they kept coming loose on me (yes I'd tighten the 17mm pulley nut after adjustments lol)

hi-comp N/A BP can suck a bag of dicks, you won't make **** for power unless you use every trick in the book.

send the auto out to get built and throw a .60 on the BP.

i agree with getting the automatic built! regardless, then you can actually put some power down without having to worry.

number one problem is going to be the ATX, when i first turbocharged my B6DE i blew the clutches out of the trans in less than a block. That being said you will need a clutch kit and a good rebuild and you can get some longevity out of it. maybe a higher stall torque converter

My first idea would be the BP 10:1 with the Supercharger :D but not unless something is done with the trans.

Now if you wanted reliability, good power, and stay within a budget I would go with the KL DE all day. That would be my official choice.

^ i wonder...... is the KL automatic an F series like the BP auto? or a G series auto??
in the event that the KL is a g series auto what would its holding compacity be....

Unless you run meth and a GOOD intercooler (like an AWIC), that's a recipe for melted pistons.
