    OK. I am out of books etc. Maybe somebody has the auto wiring diagram.
    If you measure resistance across the VSS, it should go On-OFF-On-Off etc when you turn the drive, not speed sensitive with a reed switch, so just turning it a bit will show you if it works. Then try to figure if that signal is getting to the ECU. I hear some have the trans control inside the ECU and some have a separate TCU.
    The Hold is bothersome though, esp the only when hot part. The WSM gives pretty good step by step, but I don't have the autobox section.

ID:	1229027hey everyone. well, i went through the entire wire harness from the cluster down to the ecu and could not find much of anything. no cut or pinched wire like i was hoping for. i did find a wiring job that looked a little strange to me down to the center connector on the ecu. dont know if this is normal or why it is wired this way. i will let you guys be the judge.

        there is also a little blue box in the dash toward the driver door. does anyone know what this is for?Click image for larger version
