Removing speedo gear??

Changing trans fluid, removed speed sensor but the gear stayed in the trans housing; anyone have any tips for removing the speedo gear?

Trying not to pull driver side axle shaft and tilt car then fill through axle shaft hole, however if getting the gear out is a no go then so be it.

I find it much easier to refill trans lube through the reverse or neutral switch myself.
