    323 BP Motors

When I purchased my GTR I also picked up some GTX BP and B6 motors and a 1.6 miata... My question is what parts can I take off these motors and keep as spares for my car before I sell them... From my understanding the pistons and rods are different. The valves, intake manifold, turbo, injectors, fuel rail and fpr are different from the GTR.

The motors have different stamps on the heads... The reman head I have is BP26-2 same with one of the motors and the other motor is BP26-8-1

Also I've been looking at other peoples cars that say they have a "GTR swap" but they have the GTX fuel rail and fpr??

What would be a fair price to sell these for locally? I have not tried turning them over but I did pull the plugs and put mystery oil in the cylinders.

Here are some pics... Any information would be appreciated.

Sorry for the big pics and this one being upside down.

    BP26-2^^^

    BP26-8-1 on the right.

    Sorry for the Noob questions.

gtr and gtx heads are the same casting, same cams, only difference is the sodium filled exhaust valves. BPT motors are not worth as much as they were a few years ago. BPT's have the same rods as n/a bp and lower compression pistons. easiest method would be to just sell parts from the engines if you were lookin to make a few bucks without the hassle of shipping an engine. could sell the oil pans, cams, turbo, intake manifold, maybe rods/pistons, injectors, ect.

Is the BPT block/crank the same as the gtr? I read somewhere that the oil squirters were different.

oil squirters are a bolt on item, so if they were different you could swap them around.

BPT block/crank are no different from other BPs

This might aid in your investigating its from the 1992 Mazda Factory GTR Manual, shows what was interchangable and lists some of the differences .

I believe they are stating the pervious model BP DOHC Turbo " GTX " and then this shows the newer " GTR " model changes / interchangeability .

But from looking at the images it seems to me that you have two GTX motors there , the intake manifolds give it away , plus you can tell from the colour
of the injector tops . The GTR ones are Orange.

Nice link, that definitely helps... I can't find any information on what the parts are worth tho. I'm going to end up just keeping one of the head/blocks as a spare and sell everything else.

I'm just trying to figure out some fair prices for these parts before I'm allowed to post them in the for sale section... I am going to be keeping 1 bp block w/o rods/pistons, 1 head w.cams, 1 valve cover, p/s pump and a few sensors, that's it...
Everything else will be going up for sale/ trade (for misc. gtr parts)

I also have a complete b6t motor that I will part out.

Toyota adapter plate is the way to go. You can search through fs threads on here to see what stuff has sold for in the past
