    VAF to MAP converter

Years ago CS used to sell a VAF to MAP converter. Does anyone remember the name of the unit?

I know I'm a bit late, but I just saw this.

    web.archive.org works wonders!!!

Mazda high performance parts, accessories, and service for all Mazda and mazda powered cars made since 1986. We specialize in hard to find J-spec and Japanese parts.

It's made by a company in New Zealand called MAP ECU. Unfortunately, it looks like they discontinued the original MAP ECU long ago... http://www.mapecu.co.nz/products/

why would you want it though? You can get a pnp megasquirt for less and control everything. This is still just a piggyback....

I thought about getting one for the wagon- drive around with the VAFM hooked up til it learns the fuel maps, then throw the VAFM in the trash and use the MAP ECU to tune for bigger injectors. I'd way rather have an awesome factory-tuned ECU than a standalone.

WOW you may have been late to the party but you made an entrance!

This is exactly it. I am picking one up here next month when I drive my butt 3 hours to go get it. This is for my DD and I want reliability and several of the KL guys I know have constant issues with there MS setups. I really just want the MAP as it is more efficient, this will increase power as well as MPG's. I have seen some of the KL guys go from the VAF to MAF with as much as a 20 hp gain. I have thought about the MAF swap but do not want to go to OBDII, as well as there is no OBDII correct ECU for the ZE. This will cost almost exactly the same as the MAF conversion so I can justify it Plus next year when I plop on the twin turbo setup it will allow me to not have to change much of anything to run factory boost.

Umm wow these new ones are a bit pricey... 700.00 dollars! yikes... I guess I am getting a good deal on the older model for 350.00 a shame it does not have the same functions as the newer ones.

Ouch. You can do the Maf conversions on the KL's for less then a hundred bux. Been rocking mine for over 2 years now, and love it. Specially with my real time readings of so much information that is has given me access to.
