Just looking for a little bit of help. Not sure how closely related the radiators and wiring is between the protege and the EGT but I figured I could find some good knowledge here.
Issue is car was overheating on way to work the other day. Noticed 3 things.
- Coolant is brown
- Smoke coming from passenger side of radiator
- Fuse for fan is blown, so fan doesn't turn on
I have since replaced and completely flushed the coolant system by using a garden hose and spraying water down the radiator with the draincock open in hopes of breaking up any blockage.
Filled up with 50/50 fluid since then.
Started car and let it idle till hot. It finally got hot and then heard the relay for the fan click, fan moved ever so slightly and then watched the fuse blow. I understand it could be any NUMBER of things and I don't have that much time to replace everything before I have to be back at work next.
I have tried checking for resistance but I honestly am not sure what to look for and what I'm doing.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.
