Who has an aftermarket ignition system? What do you have and what are your thoughs? Im looking into some, just looking for opinions.

i am curently running with the msd blaster SS coil and the msd 6A ignition box....i picked them up on ebay about 7months for only like 150 shipped.....new they can run you over 200 depending on where you buy them......but trust me they are WELL WORTH THE $$....i have almost no acceleration lag and i gained a very satisifying amount of hp91 323 GTX @ 16psi, 5 speed || December 07 R.O.T.M.

the coil iss a direct swap and the ignition box comes with instructions.....just a wire to the coil and a wire to the battery.....91 323 GTX @ 16psi, 5 speed || December 07 R.O.T.M.

i have a 8.5mm magnecore wire for $80 and msd for $50. I'd like to say good stuff about it but i dont have any except for it looks good. And it gives me a hard time to read the timing which i would say is good for resistance but back for the mechanic. Maybe it works maybe it dont i really cant tell u cuz my car dont feel like it made any difference neither did the lx fuel pump and the ground wire kit.

The only way real to tell if you gained anything small is to go to the dyno.I know this because I was goofing around on the dyno one day testing different octane fuels.I found out that going from 87 oct to 93 oct cost me 2 hp. the gude head package is about 1300 dollars. It is supposed to give you about 20 hp.. I saw this on someone elses car on the escort board if I am not mistaken. They dynod it.
I really can't remeber, it was so frigin long ago.,like last week ..
go to www.escortracing.com and look it up.

see if you go to a ignition system you will have to upgrade a few things. i just bought a msd system with coil and boost retard. if you buy an MSD modual you will need to upgrade your stock coil. your stock coil is now seeing a stronger more percise signal which it was not designed for.
it will take it but people will start putting money on how soon it goes. it is like puting 220V through a socet designed to take 110V sure initial it will take it but it wont last long.When you turn your car on... does it return the favor?
