what about the clutch pedal and shifter?
are there bolt-in spots for everything?
would i need a new center console?

once i get better at driving a 5spd, i'm going to swap auto to manual
(probably end of summer... don't know, when i'm done with the fixing\repaint i'll start looking for deals)
Pedals: get the pedal 'rack' from a manual, all hole are there, just bolt on the firewall and on the steering column.

Shifter: removed auto shifter, bolt in manual shifter... I think the console fits both shifter, only the top part is swapped.

All Protegés have the holes, spots to make it manual or auto. Some hole are blocked by bolted sheetmetal in the worse case. I haven't drilled a single hole.

Got a couple of questions for ya, I got a 94 Escort GT that is an auto, I want to swap the motor and use a manual trans. into a 95 Escort LX. The LX was originaly auto and I swapped it to a manual when the auto trans stopped working. I am going to swap all the wiring from the GT so that I have a working cluster cause right now the temp gauge and tach do not work. So all i need to do is just swap all the wire harness's and motor and it will start and drive without needing a manual cars harness?

        any thing will help
        thanks

you need the manual trans, clutch, flywheel, clutch slave cylinder and all the fluid lines, and the brake/clutch setup inside the car.....

Well the wiring in a Ford car might be different. I know the engine's wiring harness is the same, Mazda or Ford, but maybe inside it is wired differently. I'd suggest you swap all the wiring you can from the GT to the LX. But yes, the car is supposed to run and drive as long as it has the engine wiring harness for a manual. At least mine did.
