    escort front bumper

i was thinking. if i take the grill out and leave it out until i can custom make one can i put the front bumper from the escort on. i know the hump will come up the middle but will it hit the headlights? and will it line up with fenders and bottom of headlights? is there any modification that needs to be done to make the scort bumper fit nice?

oh i waas thinking. changing to slant headlights with the 94 hood should fill the gap a little more where the hump comes up so not having a grill might accualy look ok.

sounds like a good plan. i think you could cut into the fiberglass of the bumper a little if necessary for your lights to clear the bump.

ok the escort bumpers fits. The bump in the sccort bumper fits between the head lights because the protege has a larger grill then the scort. the 94 style hood and lights is a good idea. unless the hole is still too big. but even then a small stylish filler peice would be easy to make out of fiberglass.

The escort gt bumper will fit yes, someone here had one on their 1st gen. I had suggested to Chad to just use a 94 hood also, I think it would work, Im not sure how far up the hump on the bumper goes though - Im guessing there will be a small gap between the bumper and hood though. There is no real way of knowing until someone trys it.

to my knowledge the tracer bumper does not have hump in the middle and is flat across. If your gonna go for an escort hood too. I would instead go with the tracer one the middle sectin is slightly brought up with ridges gives it a different look

If you want to use the escort bumper, you're gonna need the headlights from the escort too being as they have a bottom corner rounded off to follow the "hump" in the bumper.

Yeah tracer bumper fits no problem. The crash brace is also more compact in the tracer bumper.

Actually, the escort bumper should fit without any modification. Someone here has done it before - it just looks odd in the grill area. From looking at this picture, I don't think the hump goes up enough to fill in the gap with a 94 hood as previously mentioned.

i still think you could just cut it off, unless it just an empty hole once you do.
