Rear view mirrors, swaps, and mods.

ive been toying with the idea of removing my rear view, and building a console for a radar detector to permanently mount there, then re-attach the mirror on a much smaller arm, so it still sits at stock height.

my question to the masses is.
does anyone know of a similar mirror with a smaller mounting arm.
perhaps from something with a lower ceiling.

use an escort mirror, they glue to the windshield.

go out front and look at the MX3 (the passenger door is unlocked i think) and see if it mounts closer to the ceiling. I know the roof is lower I bang my head on it all the time lol

you are correct sir,
the vrtical distance between the top of the mirror, and top of the widsheild is 2 inches on the mx3
on the 323? 2.25 inches.


something bugs me about gluing a mirror to a windsheild that doesnt belong there, it is a great plan B though, ill keep it in mind.

well if you use the 'special' glue to install the mirror mount, it shouldnt be a problem...

well yeah, but i had this sexy fantasy about a schnazzy console that decended from my ceiling with a sleekly mounted radar detector in it, and a mirror attached.

i spose i might be able to find a radar detector that feeds to a video screen, and install a rear view cam, but that would cost mad loot.

i need to anyway I NEED a solution for my electronics like whoa and i was thinking of a GPS mount either above or below the GPS.

if Xibit was here, he would mount a gps, in your gps, so you can navigate wile you navigate.
