    Standard US trim exteriors

    hi guys,

Can you post pics of standard US versions of the BG chassis, like front and rear bumpers, head lights and grills, tail lights and garnish. I'm planning to do a USDM route instead of the usual JDM route. For those wondering, I'm from the Philippines.

Any info will be deeply appreciated.

    Thanks!!

Here you can find some picture of USDM bumpers. (DX/LX). Not GT, GTX.
If I've made some mistake, local fellas will explain more exactly

      thanks labeo!

I like the rear bumpers, specially with the clearance lights. The front bumpers are abit plain though, but it seems to go well with the straight hood.

hopefully I can chance up on these in the local surplus shops.

As for me, GTX front bumbers are nice. Just combine them in Photoshop with your car, for example.
PS European 323 change trim rarely than their US or J colleagues in opposite direction (USDM<->JDM) In many cases this is custom made trim.

European 323 are closer to JDM.
            For example, this.
And a lot of pictures of 323s are in MazdaMadness' posts:
here. Search for his post in that topic.
            This is my.
There was restyling of rear bumper in 91, but it haven't had notable influence on exterior.

the EuDM version is pretty much the same as the PhDM, the front and rear bumpers are the same, as well as the tail lights and garnish. The only difference is the straight hood, grill, headlights.... hmm...

thanks for the pics labeo! I appreciae it..

Straight hood on EuDM 323s was only on 89-91, as well as 89-91 Proteges.
Since 91 hood has acquired "beak", the same as on first link in my prev post.
Because this "beak" has made during 91-94, amount of such cars is notable than 89-91 cars. So, EuDM and JDM exterior trims are the same, depend on the year of production.

Thnanks, but honestly speaking, this is combination of JDM trunk lid garnish (i can make mistake in terms - red plastic with "familia" inscription), and USDM license plate & bumpers. Don't deceive us - we are just newbies

Does anyone know if the exterior mirrors are the same between USDM and Philippines market protege's? If they are, I have a set of USDM protege mirrors. They need a little work, as there is some bubbling and peeling paint, but I'm betting that if you take them apart and sand them down and repaint them, you'd have a good set.

                        Well, lets compare:
                        JDM manual mirrors:

                        USDM manual mirrors:
                        .
                        The same for electric.
                        I think, they're identical.
More skilled people will correct me, if I've made wrong assumption.

you are correct labeo. the mirrors i have are JDM, they non foldable and are spring loaded that snaps back into place when bumped. The PhDM mirrors is quite different, they are foldable and not spring loaded.

I like them for this feature - they are more reliable in narrow environment
Are the mount palces of JDM and PhDm identical? Think, they are.

they're identical, there is a small nuisance though, specially if you're driving a left hander, with the JDM mirrors you have to mod the adjustment on the driver side. But that's not a problem if are driving right handers..
