Aftermarket hub.. anyone try the ebay ones?

I'm a firm believer in Momo hubs, but I am just wondering if the ebay chinese junk non quick release style hub is just as good quality as the $70 momo piece.

    Thanks guys!

The only experience I have with non-stock hubs is the one I've got on my corolla. I'm not sure what brand it is, I see no markings. I got it (used) for 15 bucks, but it may well be the Personal brand. I've got it connected to an NRG quick-release, and then a MOMO wheel.

I don't see a big problem, you need something with the proper splines, and with the proper bolt pattern for the wheel you use. If it works, go for it!

What sort of wheel are you putting on? remember, the stock wheels are dished like 4", and if you get a wheel that's not dished, a short hub will make you hit your signals and wipers all the time when you're in the middle of turning the car.

Personally, I think that hub is too short for the standard flat "race-type" wheel like the Momo and Grant that I've used.

Do miata hubs fit our cars? I'm looking into installing a different wheel on my protege but can't find a hub for it that doesn't cost a fortune....

if its for a mazda, it will probably work. ive swapped ones as old as a 1st gen rx7, to as new as a mazda6. they all have the same spline. we have put millenia and 02 626 steering wheels on proteges, swapped between both gen probes, tested a mx3 wheel. there really hasnt been a mazda wheel that hasnt been swappable. lol

I'm not so sure if a RX7 FD3s hub will work. Momo labels it as a different part number, so i'm not sure if that's because it's size or the splines.

Mine's a no-name deep boss-type hub. I got it used off of ebay from an AE86 drift guy for dirt cheap. Since it was going onto my own Corolla, I had no fitment issues.

It has the splines and uses the OEM nut, then has 2 different 6-hole patterns, for sparco/momo/nardi/whatever.

I've then got the quick-release, then the wheel, for around a six to seven inch extension. Here's a side view:

Mazda 3 steering wheels don't work. They don't have splines, but rather a funny 5 sided design. I wasted money on one.
