    MX-3 Recaro seats in Protege/323/Escort

I'm still keeping my eyes out for a set of MX-3 Recaro (92/93 style), from the fond memories I had of them in my Escort GT.

My question is, do the MX-3 seats fit the same in the Proteges as they do the Escort 2 doors? Only reason I ask, is that I know MX-3 seats are designed a bit differently...so I wasn't sure if the Pro/Escort ones were any different as well.

If they fit the same, I'm a happy boy since I have a bad left knee, the tilt angle I was left with in the MX3 seats in the Escort GT was 95% perfect for me, while the adjustable Protege seats sat way to high to tilt and be comfortable.

That wasn't my question Chris I know they bolt in lol

I'm asking when you sit in MX-3 seats, is it the same angle/height installed in a Protege/323, as they are in an Escort.

I loved them in my EGT, but if they sit higher or don't tilt as much in the Protege, I don't want them.

depends on the rails you're using. mx3 rails sit you much closer to the floor. (there's your height)... and adjustability.. you can go as far forward or back as the rails allow. (same extension via 323/mx3/pro) using mx3 rails. i have no idea the length compared to protege/323 rails though.

backrest adjustable... well that's just kinda -duh-... imo

oooh ok so it's the rails that gave the seat its factory height/tilt on the "non tilt adjust" seats.

I wasn't sure if there were differences in height in the floor itself, that would cause the seat to sit higher or tilt differently.

Thanks for clearing that up lol.

maybe swap the pro rails on the mx3 seats? and use washers to make a artificial tilt?

They sit really low on the protégé, but when I put them on my 323, they are the perfect height...

Its like 2-3" lower in a protege than stock protege seats. I like it because I'm 6'1".

I didn't mind the height, but they just became uncomfortable. the stockers feels so much better. it feels weird sitting so high again bc my line of sight was right above the steering wheel, and I'm 6'1 as well.

my ex-gf was 5'1, on a good day, and had to lean to either side of the steering wheel to see. it was kinda funny watching her drive.
