I don't know, i've heard of people importing Skylines and swapping VIN's with a US market 240SX, so they could register it without going through Motorex.

I have thought about NOS for the 323, but the only thing that bugged me was constantly filling up the bottle. It can get expensive.

I have the turbo for ther 323 already. I know the car will be faster, but I don't rule out the fact that the car is going to burn more gas and crap.
I have been contemplating to just get the head slightly ported and polished and then add a set of hotter cams to the mix.. (keeping my options open).

It really depends on what you feel is appropriate for your car and your everyday ride. I mean you are the one that has to bite the bullet on anything, such as replacing a motor or head or valves or whatever.

Research it and also see what loopholes you can slide through with the inspections with a turbo setup.

I like superchargers and all motor engines myself.

As long as the engine is newer than the chassis of the car and as long as you have all the necessay smog equipment on there you're fine. Just bring it to the referee and get the BAR sticker.
My friend did this with his 90 Celica. He put in a Solara (OBDII) V6 motor, so it had to have the OBDII catalytic converter, all smog equipment, proper air intake (that was annoying, I think), etc. So I think a KL-03 (2.5L V6) swap would be doable in California. You could probably even "upgrade" it to a KL-ZE (200hp, 200ft-lb) if you keep the smog equipment attached. This is what steeb did with his MX-3, and it passed the sniffer fine. The thing is, his MX-3 already came with a similar looking V-6, so if you did the V6 into the 323 it would have to go to the state ref.

I wish somebody would write a real "How To" on the KLZE swap, i'm jonesin' for a V6 I've read a dozen threads on the matter but they're all different, maybe i'll have to figure it out for myself.
