i don't the european escort had anything to do with the american ford escort? i mean.. there's entirely different engine selections, front ends, rear ends.. what would you use from a european ford escort that would fit a bg chasis mazda?

You don't want US bumpers man..
          nah ...

          go to www.323gtx.co.uk

You can maybe get some bumpers from a gtae, gtx, gti, or a gtr.
Plus you can get the aerodynamics also. (spoilers)

1.6L aint that bad....thats what i have in my hatchback and its not that bad, if u get a exaust, header, cold air intake, and some aftermarket internals, it should be quit quick....

what do aftermarket internals have to do with being fast?

yes they could support a bigger turbo, but the turbo is what makes you faster. The internals make that increased speed more repliable. The current internals are good for 400 hp. Making more than that in a FWD street car is retarded IMO since the only place you could put it to the ground would be at the track with slicks...
The T3 BP MX-3 conversion has begun, and is taking forever & will kill me.
