    Escort update

Well as some of you may know, I spun a bearing a while ago in my gtx motor.

So Tues, I was driving to my buddy's house to do my swap, I figured i'd blow it in style lol. So I matte the gas, burn 1st, burn 2nd, feather it into 3rd get traction. Boost is over 20 psi at this point lol. Around 7rpm it BLEW! IT blew hard too, rod #1 is in pieces! It went through both sides of the block and the oil pan. Oil was everywhere.

So around 4pm we pulled it into his garage. Started yanking it. Go it out, I re-did most of the haltech harness, cleaned it up and ****.

Wed around 5pm we start on it again, we get my n/a escort motor (the original one with 210k miles) and decide to clean it up and drop it in. Took off the oil pan, tapped it for oil return. Swapped over the gtx intake manifold and full gtr turbo setup. Lifted it into the engine bay and hooked everything up. Got it cranked over around 1am but did have any tranny fluid so i left it there over night.

This morning I filled it up and pulled her back out. I also took off my drag radials and put street tires. Now I just snap the tires loose like I'm on ice. But overall it feels god, I'm sure its more powerful than before (n/a head/n/a block = better flowing/more compression)

Now here are some things i need to fix/get. My buddy was pulling the speedo gear and destroyed it so I have none now! The ford one is different than the mazda one so I'm gonna hit the dealership. I also dunne where the hell the halfshaft bolts went! I have tons of bolts at my dads house 45 mins away but at my buddy's garage there was nothing but honda bolts and none were right. But ya thats it, thought i'd fill you guys in. And the crx is parked right now My clutch cable SNAPPED! If anyone has a dx clutch cable they wanna give me I'd be very happy.. I can pay shipping of course.

how many miles did you put on it during the year? is it still running fine now? any problems?

I have questionable thoughts about the 146K mile engine i have the turbo on. Now it doesnt see much light of the day being only used for races, but the mileage makes me feel uneasy. Hope it'll at least last a year. The engine is in good condition.

Nice to hear you got it running again.

On an unrelated note, how different are the mazda and ford spedo gears, I was hoping that a ford gear would correct my speedometer reading w/ the EGT wheels

I put on about 6k since it was boosted. At first it wasnt tuned well at all, but i did some tweeking, worked well. Then I came across a GTX ecu and put that in, night and day. The motor still pulls great, but my oil gets darkers quicker, but i am rebuilding it this summer anyway. Before it was boosted, it had 179psi in each cylinder.
