Nothing. It only melted a little bit of the fan shroud.
Now I have a smaller Saab fan and larger Griffin radiator, and the header is melting that fan shroud up pretty well too. If the fan still works, I don't see why it really matters.
You could always get a thinner/smaller fan to get it away from your header, or wrap or coat your header.
or just trim the shroud like I did...problem solved...takes 15 minutes
yeah its overkill as far as stopping the melting of the shroud, but it would also help reduce underhood temps and possible heatsoak into the radiator for those folks with 3" thick aluminum radiators
Trimming the shroud doesn't work for the EGT. The EGT has a bigger radiator and fan, the shroud touches the header and the fanblades are a few CM away. Anyhow the 323 fan seems to work well.

i'm gonna need to find me some of those. i heard probes had front mounted fans... anyone know what years?
