    I work at a muffler shop here in Va. we usually charge about $100 to install a muffler and cat. btw if you plan on getting a high flow cat go with the Magnaflow "spun cat" it is designed for tight fit apps and flows very well. we install them here all of the time. one more thing get the cat with the metallic substrate not ceramic. the steel is a little more forgiving to fluctuations and rich conditions without self destructing. and on the resonator there is no restriction as long as the inlet/outlet is the same diameter as the pipe coming in or out. it is designed to reduce unwanted noise and tones. basicly it is nothing more than an inline muffler. me personaly i have hollow cat shell i slid over the pipe and welded in place. gotta love no emissions testing. but for all intensive purposes you only gain about 2 hp by doing what i did.
    Bought: HKS Carbon Ti Universal 60mm muffler assembly, no silencer.

    piping: stock.

    Need to know: prices to get stock pipes to 2.5" (60mm) piping...

    and general labor. (and if i should risk taking my car to meineke or midas or a mexican muffler shop...)
