wings are useless on most cars they are on....in order to need downforce u need lift....and these 15 second cars under 200 hp have no need whatsoever...on the street or the got damn track....

about "spoilers" and "wings" . . . .

i come from a racing background, and i will tell you, no spoiler you buy for any small amount of money is going to be worth ****. real aerodynamics costs lots and lots of R&D time and money on testing and high tech materials like carbon fiber and kevlar. . . so no, an APC or APR or any of those other acronym's wings are going to be worth your time. if you actually race your car and need real downforce you'd have to do some track time to find out how much, if any, downforce for the front and rear of your car would be necessary. angled pieces of aluminum dont do anything but create drag, which can in turn (marginally) create some downward force, but not what you want. drag is bad because it slows you down, no matter how much downforce it creates.

i used to work on race Porsches a good bit (a buddy of mine owned a couple) and the rear spoilers we used were about $2500 for the upper element and the two stanchions. . . thats pretty damn pricey compared to an APC spoiler, but nothing like the hundreds of thousands of dollars F1 teams spend to create tons (literally) of downforce to hold their cars down while not slowing them with excess drag.

i would say if you want to create some downforce without sacrificing speed plan to spend about $500-700 on a decent race ready rear wing.

they did a write up on this in Grassroots motors last year with an American Iron class Mustang fox body. . . they found that all the popular aftermarket wings created little or no downforce and added ridiculous drag. they built their own from scratch after finding what they needed through testing.
