    engine swap?

    Alright!, guys i have decided to swap out my SOHC with a crappy lil supercharger (home built only puttin out 3 PSI). for a BP, i need to keep the car auto tho. i can't make it a 5spd cuz the car is shared with me and my bother, and he can't drive stick. I have no patience to teach him either. I'm just woundering on can i use my SOHC tranny or do i have to swap it out? I dont have much cash to do this swap. i'm looking at only a $1,000 with the whole swap. This will happen in the spring when my race team gets back together. any information would help me greatly thank you

    as far as I remember the auto transmition is the same. make sure to get an auto BP and auto BP ECU

      only difference between a dx and lx auto tranny is that the lx has a jackshaft, so you'll be fine using the sohc tranny.

        Not doing a MT swap because your brother can't drive a standard is a lame excuse.

          sorry, but stick isnt what either of us want, and besides why bother? my friends auto GSX runs 12's. if i can get my car to that with an auto tranny i will **** my self

                Your stock F series AT doesn't last long on a BP-powered car, let alone a turboed engine capable of doing 12 second 1/4 miles.

                  Why dont you just put a BP auto tranny in? Dennis has an auto EGT thats fast as ****, tranny is only a MILD build too.

                      yea i'm going to drop in that BP tranny and Engine, sorry i dont have any pics of my home made charger. i never took pics.. wish i did, but it was sad anyways, i got 20 HP out of it. i can get more with an intake and exhaust and they would be cheaper. it cost me 225 to make that charger. It was fun tho when i went to races with it, no one expected to see a SOHC with a supercharger

                          Boy, I always get a real good laugh at these guys who think they can slap on an intake and exhaust and right away get 30HP. Christ if it were that easy and cheap to get Hp everybody would be doing it. Even worse they slap on a ricer, fart can exhaust and think they just added 20HP.
