modified mag has stuck there foot in mouth

i bought a modified mag yesterday, decent but mostly the same garbage in all of them. got to the letters of the month part and began getting inraged.

this is coming right out of the mag

    dear modified mag,
i have a 1991 ford escort gt. it has a 1.8l dohc engine. im planning on doin some engine mods. but the engine has 100, 000 miles on it. "it runs great" but im worried about doing any mods. im not going to rebuild the engine. "ok now" my question is - do you think the engine will - hold up orbreak down. by the way i think you guys are the best.

    -thanks-
    michael trosper

even though mileage has a direct relation to wear on engine parts, the life span of an engine really depends on how well it has been maintained. if the engine has had stringent oil changes every 5k then it could last half a million miles or on the other hand an engine with limited oil changes could self combust at 100, 000 miles. to answer your question though, we think its going to break down. after all its a ford escort . seriously, save your mod money and put it away for a better platform. then you can have the pleasure of driving that escort off a cliff and ending it completely.

well i read that and was pissed seeing as how in love with my car i am (1991 pro se) and seeing some damn fine machines on here. well i was wondering if any one else wants to join me in sending feedback in with pics of our rides

ill wait for some response's msg me and lemme know if you wanna join in

there has been a few responses to letter like this in various magazines, leave them alone, let them think our cars suck, that just means more parts for us

most of the big magazines like that are tailored toward what is "popular" in the car scene. Honda's, nissan's, a few toyota's, and did I say honda's??

That is fine though, because when we roll up next to the reader's and they see our "sorry" cars with BP's, they will think we are slow...then get DESTROYED! I used to smash so many retarded fools who think that their hondas were the fastest **** on the road. Its pretty sad. Close-mindedness in the car world sucks.
        Eat ****.

You also have to remember that most of the "editorial staff" of those types of magazines drive a nissan, or acura, or moded honda.. They are not worth the paper they are printed on. I say leave it alone... I like the fact that not everyone drives a BG...

Yeah n00bs ftl. Its like the other mag a few months ago that replied to a letter about how a EGT is a worse platform to start with then a civic! I guess that we have BOTH sway bars and a more solid chassis stock and a good bit more unf AND able to take more power on a unbuilt block is BAD because its not a honduh!
**SOLD** 93 EGT with more suspension mods then your average riced out civic's # of decals + useless "bling/style/culture" mods! **SOLD**
95 EGT New beater! And gawd damnit shes NOT pink!

Let's have a drag, top speed, autoX, and full course test with a 1991-1996 EGT vs. ANY FWD honda (compact, the prelude doesn't count) they had in 1991-1996 and see who ends up laughing.

Yeah well we all know honduh drivers don't know how to drive to begin with let alone go to autox and survive!

ya know there is something to be said for those of us who choose to build on a platform that is not mainstream popular. while most of the spo com market is dedicated to what is easy and readily available we the owners of the beloved but misunderstood BG platform stand out in the never ending sea of those content to blend in with the norm to strive to create from often nothing available to something hard to find and apply it to our chassis to make it work with a little effort and turn it into something that by any standard is fast and well handling.

This is our quest; as the tail lights fade into the distance let it not be the jeers of others that say we can not do what others have, but to let the whistle of the bov the whine of our turbo and the roar of our exhaust announce to those who may say it can not be done that we will not go quietly into the night we will not bow to mainstream but rather blow by them doing mach speed laughing our asses off and giving them the one sure sign so that they will understand their place in life when it comes to doubting a driven individual who owns a Mazda BG with a boosted BP

Well said benchracer. I agree, let them keep thinking pros and egts are ****. This way our cars won't become mainstream and be by the aftermarket (altezza tails, big ass body kits, ect) and the kids that are into that ****. I like standing out in a sea of hondas and nissans and getting the respect after the race. Leave it be.

thats one for the AIm profile.. it does kinda piss me off how on Chitownracing.com they all make fun of my little mazda because its not a EF9, EG6 or EK9. i had people saying "Mazda and fast dont belong in the same sentence". Lets just say on person learned that my buddy's GT Protege can smoke an EK9 anyday of the week.

let them keep thinking that the EGT's , 323's , MX-3's and Pro's are not contenders in todays compact market. We have some of the best handling cars stock then they do modified. Let the "whats hot this month" worshippers have their say now because after you leave thier butts choking on your dust they will be pretty much speechless then.
