    Shop procedure writeups?

Has anyone done a writeup of the procedure for changing struts? Need to tackle the job before my daughter heads off to college. Car rides like a buckboard at the moment.

Also need to tackle the brakes. Any chance the procedure is the same as an early Miata?

    Thanks

If you've done it before (even though on a different car) then it'll all make sense once you start as its pretty simple on these cars! The brakes as well!
**SOLD** 93 EGT with more suspension mods then your average riced out civic's # of decals + useless "bling/style/culture" mods! **SOLD**
95 EGT New beater! And gawd damnit shes NOT pink!

The Miata is probably darn close, especially early on, since they share a lot of things. It's very straight forward for both the brakes and struts. Just remember with the brakes not to lose your U shaped pin!

If you haven't done any struts or brake work before (or just can't remember), feel free to post again and I'm sure we'll have 5 or 6 different write ups and tips for you real quick!

If its any reassurance I did my brakes on mine no problem, except that my calipers were kinda shot, but once I got new ones it went really smoothly.

Note: I had never done brakes before

Okay guys, appreciate the info. I'll dive in. Did shocks and brakes on the my '91 Miata and was hoping you'd confirm they are pretty similar.

Was hoping for a Shop Procedure section on Club Protege similar to the Garage section on Miata.net. Lots of collective wisdom here, just hate to see it slip away. Would be great to get what you all know down on the website so I could tear into it with my laptop next to me in the garage.

I'll call for help if (when) I get in over my head.

          Thanks again.

There is an How-To section for do it yourself and tech articles:

            and

and you can also visit feoa.net and check out the how tos there as well as all the suspension sections on each forum. the escort (lx or gt) in the 2nd and 3rd gen years is the same (for the most part, suspension is at least).
