    Show me your CAB's

I decided the frankenprotege needs a cold air box. I'm trying to decide how best to do it, whether to pick air up from underneath or from a NACA duct in the hood. The hood scoop would detract from the sleeper look so that's a minus. OTOH "sleeper" is a style, and performance is more important than "style"... so what works best, and how does one keep the rain outta the intake with either setup, when one is doing a custom fab? So, them with BPT swaps in BG's, show me pix of what works...
'90 AWD Protege, full GTR drivetrain swap, ~320 whp daily driver, RIP, and
'90 AWD Protege, yet another GTR swap, Open class rallycar with a Toyota GT4 gearbox swap, thus crossing the line between hobby and mental illness. And a Brabus E55 K8, removing all doubt.

on my last 2 i took off the driver side corner light, and cut the back out of it.
then shaved the opening in and put some grill mesh in it
the stock intake goes right behind it.
    Next!

Block is almost done, cylinders are overboard for Weisco pistons, pro gram billet main caps have been line bored, and my chinese EDT rods have been machined to right specs. Everything has been balanced.

I use to mount my open air intake like that...like the one shown above. Now since I have a GTR front bumper cover. I'm going to punch a 3" diameter hole on radiator support wall and route tubing to the left side pulling air from the fog light port. Connect it straight to the factory airbox and replacing the filter with a MazdaSpeed foam filter. Plus punching vents on the bottom side airbox to pull in addition air but facing away from the engine.
