    idle problem

well my idle is stuck at 1000-1200rpm all the time now anybody have any idea to what it could be also the a/c button stopped working to kick up the idle and kick on the fan

could you also list everything that controls the idle

There's an idle control screw on the top of your throttlebody usually under a rubber cover, you can manually adjust it there. Also, check the distributor that it didn't loosen up slightly and that could let it advance the timing and bump the idle up.

if your AC button stopped working, and your idle is bumped up, they could be related. The AC when on sends a trigger to the ECU, bumps the RPMs up. I'd focus on the AC, get that working properly. If that doesn't solve it, then..something else.

The list of things that Bump the idle:
      AC
      Stoplights
      PS pressure switch
      Radiator Fan
      Blower (depends on the setting)
      Rear defrost
      Headlights

There might be more, but I pulled that direct from the 95 EGT/92 Protege wire diagram I made. Should be mostly complete.
No car! I soldz it. Now I have a truck. I like it, but apparently it has a hard time keeping up with a slightly modified 4WD protege with half the hp. Neat.

i mean sensors an stuff that tells the ecu what to make it idle at something could have went bad

sometimes the idle would stay at 800 then after i shut the car off it would be 1000 then stay there until i drive it but now its just stuck at 1000rpms

the clutch and brake switches mess with the idle too

Not my vintage but heres a few ideas,
Carboned up throttle valve in the throttle body holding the throttle valve open.OR
Take the handle of a good sized screwdriver and rap on the IAC or BAC valve and see if it changes the idle ...indicates a stuck idle control valve.

Also check for free play in the throttle cable.Sometimes the bracket for the cable get moved and takes the slack out of it holding the throttle open.
If ur car has a vaf or door style air flow meter check to see if its stuck open a bit.

I had a ****ty idle once, not like yours though. Anyway, I got a MAF off a BP in a ford. (the 1st BP I've even seen in person, and couldn't get it ) and it fixed my idle problem.

take it off and tear it down, nothing too loose if its fubar. But i think its serviceable.Pay real close attention to what goes where.
