I came across a deal I couldn't pass up for a donor car - a 1995 Escort GT.
The only problem, it's automatic and I'm stick. I know if you want to hardwire your B6 harness for the BP motor, it's a matter of;
"You will need to get the two-wire connector from the VICS solenoid and route those two wires all the way to the two pinouts on the BP ECU you are using. You will also need to get a 4-wire distributor connector, and splice the three wires from your old harness, and route the forth wire to your new BP ECU pinout."
My problem lies in that my 323 will have the two-plug ECU while the Escort will have the three-plug automatic ECU.
So, that eliminates a simple ECU swap and retaining my factory engine harness.
What are my options Protege gods?
Is it possible (fairly straightforward? I've swapped engines in my MR2 and I'm currently installing my pre-built Megasquirt box and universal harness, so I'm capable of some minor tom foolery) to put that automatic BP ENGINE harness into my 5speed B6 car, and simply ground out/trick the neutral safety switch?
Worst case scenario, is I might need to pick up a 5-speed BP engine harness and ECU. Someone had mentioned that the 5-speed and automatic cars had different VAFs - what kind of worm can am I opening here?
