    That was a dumb idea.......

Well, I found out the hard way that there's a reason for the flex pipe in my exhaust........ I had a straight pipe on it with no flex pipe because I didn't think i'd need one for racing, but I tore my exhaust in multiple places, including my tubular manifold! The collector was torn half off, and needed to be welded back together...... I wish I didn't cheapen out on the exhaust.......

you need to have solid engine mounts to keep the engine from moving around and putting stress on the exhaust........or get a flex pipe put back in

Even with solid mounts the exhaust still moves around enough.. Id always recommend a flex pipe. Do as I speak, not as I do; My ****ty exhaust leaks in 2 places and doesn't have a flex pipe. lol

When I first went turbo, I left the flex pipe out of the equation... I had filled mounts and still snapped my exhaust completely in half I thought the mounts would stop it.

Even with solid motor mounts the exhaust itself is not solid mounted. It can still swing on the rubber hangers and it doesn't take a whole lot of swinging to induce metal fatigue.
