Pretty sure I installed it correctly. This problem did not start until quite some time had passed. I might change it again anyway though. I picked up a dual valve thermostat from the dealer today. I like those much better than the singles.
The radiator is free enough to accommodate the full flow of a garden hose, and it drained pretty quickly when I had to take out the coolant again. I don't know how else to test that. The water pump is fine. I already pulled it out to look at it.1990 Protege 4WD

Gonna look at a ZX2 this week I think. 145K, power errrrthang, cruise, 5-speed, sweet 90's factory graphics stuff.
Assuming I get it:
-most of my suspension stuff can swap over, right? JPM arms, 4-pt brace, K-sports, blah blah blah
-can I fit a snowboard in this jam with the seats down?
-anyone swapped MX3 seats into one?sigpic

Front suspension stuff should all be identical, but I believe they have the mx3 style tie plate, and idk if that will interfere with the 4 point.

IIRC that tie bar is set a little further back on the subframe, while the 4-pt uses the front bolt of the LCA or something- I don't *think* it'll interfere. ZX2s have a tiny rear bar, right? Installing a 1" Quickor would probably be a little overkill...
The board just barely fits in an MX3 which is weird because it's only a 155, that's the only reason I asked.
I'll have to look to see if the rear seats mount like the 2nd gens, I supposesigpic

Yeah they have the little rear swaybar. 13mm
Idk how snowboard lengths compare to skis but I used to fit 180 skis in my escort fine with a couple passengers. I dont think a ZX2 will be much different92 Mazda MX3 GS> For sale, $1750 OBO

I like mine, but its an s/r and I believe the seats are a little different. But in general they are pretty good. Definitely nicer than third gen escort seats. My only problem is I'm pretty tall and in my car (which has a sunroof) my head almost touches the roof (if I have sunglasses on my head they will be touching) in a zx2 with no sunroof I'm fine tho.

ZX2 seats are the WORST BG seats I've ever driven in lol, swap em out! You sit about 5" taller than the MX3 seats, and I'm only 5"9 and my head almost rubs on the roof!
Definitely ditch the 13mm rear sway bar though lol, 21mm ftw-Jack

Yeah, I'm 6'5", and my head hits the roof. And I hate the stock seats, but can't afford a set of better (lower and more comfortable) right now. But as soon as I can, I'm going to be getting a better set. (maybe some celica seats or something....)My family has lots of bg's!
