got the BPT out from it's shelf, and pulled off the transmission and starter. put some PB blaster on exh. manifold studs/nuts. If I'm going to retain the factory heat shield, I'm going to have to drill out a couple of those 6mm bolts, because only three were holding it on, and one more broke today.
Then, I remembered that the very center stud in the exhaust manifold. When I took the manifold off when I first got the engine YEARS ago, the aluminum came right out with the steel bolt. fortunately, never had an issue with exhaust leakage. But, I'm going to have to fix this moving forward, since I't's going to get a teensy bit warm.
Messed around with my EVO8 intercooler, seeing how I want to mount it. That'll have to be one of the last things I do, so I can make sure that the routing works right. I'm almost thinking of notching out some of the lower radiator support to allow proper fitment.

Oooohhh, pretty.
Also, to the mother****er in the Black 90-93 Protege LX (didn't get a good look, but for sure not a 94) that keeps driving past my house off 61st in Arvada Colorado... If you are reading this... you've driven past at least 3 times since I got home from work tonight... (you just drove past at 9:50) It's real nice to see a BG in the area and all, but your car sounds like ****. Get a muffler... and stop ****ing pushing in the clutch and revving your engine every time you drive by. Seriously. Get a life dude. Also, if you want some nice parts for your car, you know where I am... Bring cash mother****er.Current:

Word. Sidenote, this must be the BG you bought when you got tired of searching for Jesus, huh? Do me a favor and park on the two metal strips that go across the road just up the street here... Just stay in the car and wait a while. When you hear an insanely loud horn go in the pattern of Long, Long, short, LOOONG, just close your eyes and hold your breath... It'll be worth it.Current:

Summer feet on DX.
Had to change front pads - what a POS, only 52000 hard miles on them.
Only because the backing plates got rusty and spit out the lining.
Changed the oil & filt.
Biggest problem I have with these cars is that the hood hinges keep freezing up, 'cause you never have to open it! I have put more oil on them than in the engine.
Washed it!!
MPV rusted all its brake lines out sitting in front of the shop over winter -
I had thought I might change them as PM!
New parts car coming so I can do the 323 number 2 dead automagic swap out.
And put the blower motor in something this year.
And rebuild the rusty 323 number one, Rojito.
Sounds like a plan!
This winter, over the phone, talked my daughter through changing her calipers and MC in 323 number 3 Harry. Bad MC made it seem that the calipers were hanging, but after she changed the RH, the LH started, so I told her to do the MC first. That fixed it, but the heat had cooked the LH one too, which died after another 3000 miles. Too bad, those calipers were less than 2 years old, pads still at about 85%.

Disassembled and wire wheeled some calipers/brackets, lca's and ttl's, then painted those and the front rotors (vht satin black caliper paint on the rotors and calipers, gloss black suspension/chassis epoxy paint on the arms.)
Installed five of the ARP extended wheel studs in one front hub to see just how long they are. They will work just fine.
Also Pressed Energy Suspension bushings in my zx2 trailing arms that were painted and cured a few days ago.
And painted one front disk backing plate in Gold VHT engine paint, hoping once its fully assembled, it gives the look of gold anodized parts from the few angles you might actually see them. If that fails to satisfy, I have a spare set that will get some sort of treatment.Current:

^^^ the ARP studs... are they the same knurl diameter as the 4-bolt ones would use?
do you have the ARP part number handy? I'm gonna need longer studs to fit any decent rubber on my SSR's...
yesterday... removed TB, IM, rail/fpr, injectors, Ex-M, vj20, vj20 collector/dp elbow, clutch, flywheel.
unboxed: GTR maifold, Skuce/PSC manifold, aeromotive fpr, vf10, 550cc's, billet fuel rail, evo8 fmic and "TurboWorks" fmic, boundary engineering billet oil pump gears.
today: made a list of seals that I'll need to replace. thought about FMIC mounting a bit more, hung the IM and ExhM on the engine, separated the vj20 hotside.
tomorrow: probably order the seals, check for various studs/bolts/washers that I'll need.
maybe clean the engine a bit, assemble vf10 hybrid, see what I'll need for water/oil lines. pull some un-necessary wiring out of the car, or at least loom it up, since I'll want it in there next winter (circuits for HID bumper lightbar.)
gotta dig around for my B-code, I don't know where it's at. Maybe I didn't even get one, but I could swear that I did.
deliberate some more on what wideband I really want to get. really leaning towards the zeitronix zt-2, I've got several friends with VERY good results in their cars (evos, supras, shelby chargers, sti's, turbo malibu wagons.)
sleep in, because I'm freakin' tired!!
