^^ Dude fixing the dropped shifter is easy, some people drill a hole right through the floor and all the way through the shifter and put a bolt to sandwich them together, but I took and took the whole shifter out and drilled a hole in the two plates and then put a bolt through them. Don't tighten it all the way up as there needs to be a little play in there, and either double nut it or put a locking nut on there.

I have two screws in there now, but it moves side to side. I am going to do the drop bracket, and may lock nut it. Was going to weld it, but eh, no welder.
I also need to get a zx2 stabilizer bar bushing, bc currently, two big washers are there, lol.
Also may do some derlin bushings with one poly bushing on each front side to allow for some flex with the stock sways until I can get a zx2 front and a gt/ wagon rear bar. What other readily available stock front bars are a decent upgrade for a dx?Last edited by 93BlkOnGreenPro; 03-25-2012, 11:34 AM.My car is a Vazondissan. Part Nissan. Part Mazda. Part Ford. Part VW. Brody,
If this is a picture from your car. its fully explanatory why your breaking bars.
IDK WTF endlink kit your running. but the middle spacer is FAR FAR FAR too long. The upward pressure from that is whats snapping your swaybars.
Cut that spacer in half or less & you'll never have an issue again.
Originally posted by Racerboy View PostYup, they are exactly the same. I've cut both in half, and measured both. Both are solid, both are the same diameter. If you want an upgraded sway bar, you will have to go aftermarket. Or find some other car that has a similar setup and make custom mounts and stuff. Or you can make your own way better by making some derlin bushing and using those on the back. But using derlin bushings is sort of complicated. And if you are wondering what I mean by that, it means that you need to put one polyurethane bushing in each endlink because the derlin doesn't give enough. It would break the bar if you used just derlin. And you can't use derlin on the front bar. It will break the bar no matter if you use a polyurethane bushing or not. I've done it. on both sides of the bar.....

Oh, and you need to make sure you lube up the bushings real good, or they seize up.
Now, what did I do to my bg today? How about reinstalled it's ecu and drove it. (The race car, that is. 323 is still not running.) Also took some exaust videos of it. I don't know why, but it seems louder than when I drove it last. I'm wondering if my glasspack burnt out again last race. But it's still quieter than a straight pipe.---Has ClubProtege helped you in someway? show your support by Contributing--- Click Here---

speaking of sway bars, I installed my new rear sway bar. Painted red for ricer. I installed the energy suspension poly links too. I had to trim the bushings though. The kit I bought comes with just the bushings, (the one that comes with the bolt is too big) and they are a bit too thick to use with the stock hardware. Note- Trimming polyurethane bushings sucks btw.
also, cleaned the garage out and now my car fits in there again.

Well I tried to go through the emission test with the Progete Daily Driveer ... A Big FAIL !!!!
I had a feeling it would. So I changed the plugs ( which they needed badly ) , Cleaned the Air cleaner,
Put in a new O2 sensor , played with the idle adjustment ..
Now will try tomorrow to see if it will pass... I hope it does , as I dont want to change the cat ... last item that possibly could be
causing my Nox and Hc to be to high .
I also got the red car back together and played with the ride height with the K-Sport coilovers ...
It has much better stance now ..

Ace, what bar is that? Addco? I was able to use everything asides the frame mount brackets, ended up going OEM since they're a more solid design IMO.-Jack

Jack, its an LX rear sway bar. lol Just gave it some ricer love and painted it red. and brody, you may not have broke them before you put delrin in there but thats exactly what delrin is supposed to do, not forgive. It's making your sway bar link essentially a solid link and the end of the bar is the weakest point in that equation if you've got good grade 8 bolts for the end links. Preloading that bar added to the stress even more, so preloading AND having delrin end links was too much force on that bar.
