The front 3rd gen brembo are thicker and less prone to disc warp, plus they will last longer since they are thicker. You have to press the piston all the way out especially if you're putting on new pads, but it will fit.

I've decided that my car is a girl, she's picky as hell, won't listen to me, always wants to fight me, and when i give her presents it's never good enough and she always wants more.

I picked mine up from my fabricator today. My old turbo manifold kept cracking, so he fabbed me up a totally new one. It looks better than the old one, and for some reason the turbo spools much faster. I'm looking into a VF48 upgrade now.

Finished head-gasket replacement.
Failures
*could not manage to get the middle(water-pump area) part of the timing cover on, I was too frustrated to deal with it.
*thermostat housing is leaking a bit. I never get them 100%on the first try on any car, either I use permatex and it leaks or I don't use it and it leaks.
*Timing, idle rpm, and vaf settings are ****ed. The last time I dialed them in it was on a 175/150/150/175 compression motor. Whatever the comp(testing tomorrow) is now it does not like it.
*I rounded off the bolt that attached the cruise control, I was going to replace them passenger mount, after that happened I did not.
*Definite exhaust leak, maybe intake as well.
*My FPR solenoid has not been attached for at least 10k miles. I hope to get a bit more MPG now.
My cold idle death rattle is gone, so no matter the results of tomorrows comp/possible leak-down test the effort was worth it as there was no way that Matson was going to ship my car that needed three minutes to be drivable. The motor should hold out a year no problem the way it feels right now.
Few pictures tomorrow as well.Beater=/= Sleeper

Just the stock brace on the back of the block, but with a bigger clamp to accommodate the 2.5" downpipe. Somehow the exhaust flange managed to warp, which is what caused the cracking. I bought new flanges for the new manifold that looked to be better quality.Last edited by redheddude222; 09-14-2014, 12:06 PM.
