Installed my new powder coated valve cover with an OEM gasket. The OEM gasket fit much better than any aftermarket gasket I've used. You can find OEM gaskets on eBay for just as much as an aftermarket one.

yea, my V.C gaskets only seem to sweat right above the exhaust manifold...really annoying, especially when you can squish the gasket with your finger nail to know it's still lively...
I was thinking about making a filler piece for the radiator to turbo void to maybe help keep the heat down low in that area...think it'd be worth it?
Also looks good Ryan! I've seen 1 company that made a 2 piece flange/gasket system for the T3 5 bolt, it had the typical 5 bolt flange, but it was drilled/tapped to have a 4 bolt flange bolt over that and seal so you could easily remove the 4 bolts from the 5 bolt flange, vs removing the 5 bolt flange from the T3.-Jack

After the autoX a few weeks ago with the 323, and welding in a new flexpipe because the old one had a massive hole in it, I got sick of the hugely loud exhaust.
The existing exhaust is a leftover from my old green EGT. I had patched a bunch of holes, and every flange along the whole system was welded because everything was pretty bad. The only god part is the bend around the gas tank and over the axle.
So I got out the sawzall, chopped it out, and am starting from scratch from the front. More time was spent pulling the old manifold off, heating nuts and studs, and chasing the threads in the head than anything else so far, lol!
I took one of the OEM tubular headers, and instead of trying to mess with a flange, I just stuck an elbow on it. then welded the flexpipe to the elbow:
Yeah, it's a crush/ripple bend, but I had no mandrel stuff, and it's abot 50 times better than that stamped OEM POS. New gasket and that creation is now hanging on the head, I just need to get two replacement studs and nuts before torquing everything down. I've got a 30" glasspack going on right after the flexpipe, then I'll be doing a straight shot right to the existing around-the-tank section. There's a 2" to 2.25" coupling there, with a cherry bomb "turbo" muffler at the tail. Hopefully, going catless won't give me too bad of a drone.
and, Sonofabeyotch. I just realized that I didn't drill and weld my O2 bung. Ah well, shouldn't be too hard, it's fairly easy to get to.

looks good Sarge! I've seen a few people mod the OEM 4-1 manifolds like that, definitely looks like a worth while mod!-Jack

Some dude chased me down at the gas station and tried to buy her. After 15 mins of talking about her and 10 mins of saying now, i nicely got in the her, turned on my e-40 cd turned the volume to up 20, turned the bass up, gave the "i cant hear you face" waved and drove off.
It would be a deal for 1500 for him, but wtf could I buy with 1500?My car is a Vazondissan. Part Nissan. Part Mazda. Part Ford. Part VW. Part Honda.

I mentioned a little while back that the EGT took a wicked road bump and messed up my alignment. The wheel was way off, it leaned on p/s about 1/2" lower, and had a lot of negative camber. Knew I had bent the strut. I pulled it today and put my spring on an stock strut just to make me feel safe and happy (money's tight). Got the ride height where is should be and the alignment is restored. One bent strut and top hat...

MX-326GS: Put the new CV shafts and wheel bearings in, it fixed the loud grumbly & clicky noises LOL. I plastic tied the brake cailpers to the spings to get them out of the way while it was fixing stuff and now I have air brakes. All the fluid must of drained out of them. Other then temporarily having crappy brakes, all went well. Going to bleed those puppies tonight.
323: Bought KYB struts & BG lowering springs, mounts & boots, rotors and pads. Will be a nice smooth riding winter LOLLast edited by IMACHU2; 07-31-2012, 01:27 PM.Dominic Toretto rocks a MaZda and his cell phone number starts in "(323)"

that's the weirdest thing I've heard Jason! As if you have to rebleed your brakes...I wonder if you have a small leak letting air in...otherwise it shouldn't have drained the calipers while they were tied up to the spring...I myself do that religiously to avoid strain on the flex lines, and I've never had that happen!-Jack
