CHAD!! DUDE! i haven't seen you in freaking forever!!!! what's up!

Ya, i need the space. and if i can manage to get the handling and power of an lx with the room. well wtf, why didn't i do this years ago. the Wagon barely weighs more than the LX, but according to Edmunds, it's technically shorter in length, but the same wheelsbase (duh).. is the wagon actually not any longer than the sedan?

ya, down the line, i would likely end up turbo. now though, i need something like this for many reasons.

NOTE: this place is hard to get around on in a mobile browser, or at least m pos 1. I suspect having an egt for the donor would be ideal, but that's not going to be happening. talking just the engine mounts right? an protege lx works correctly as a donor, figuring ill swap the dash harness to to make life simple.

hmm... BP Escort Wagon, eh? ya know, I think I've seen one of those around here a time or two......

Phenomenal DD car, especially for lugging around computers/monitors/tires/deadHookers. my 323 holds a metric ton, but the escort wagon holds a metric §hit-ton. AND there's enough room in the back to fold the seat flat and sleep without being cramped. I've done that at track days before. unloaded the r-comps, and slept in it overnight.

I don't get as good of fuel economy in the wagon as the 323, but it's also VERY VERY VERY hard to keep your foot out of it because it is SO fun..... Although, the first 500 miles, when I was breaking in the clutch and driving like a baby, I actually got 35mpg on a couple tanks. But after the 500 miles hit, well, I'm sure you know how addicting boost can be....

I originally had a '95 LX wagon, but modified the dash harness to be EGT-spec, so I could have a tachometer. Then I learned the line at BHF, and ended up going fast enough to starve the oil pump, and spun a main bearing. So the next weekend, out came the SOHC, and an EGT trans got bolted to the BPT, and bolted in. crossmember is the same, mounts are the same, brackets for the mounts were a bit different. I used the GTX engine harness, I think there were actually only a few wires that needed to be repinned to make it driveable: igniter, circuit opening relay(fuel pump relay), tachometer, and water temp gauge.

I pulled the wagon into the garage on friday night, and drove it to work on Monday morning. It was actually really easy from what I remember of it. jeez, that was almost ten years ago. holy cow time flies!!!!

big turbo = better gas mileage.

pig rich and running ALL the boost, I still get 27mpg average.
