Master kill switch for 95 egt?

For the race car I am building I need to incorporate a manual master kill switch for the ignition. On/off. I did a search and went through threads beyond 2008. What is the best circuit/wire to splice into to incorporate this switch. Its a 95 escort gt 5 spd.

    thank you
Too many vehicles - 2006 ram 2500 5.9l currently 600ish whp (universal ride) - 2000 jaguar xk8 convertible only 120,000km (windy ride) - just acquired 95 egt 95,000km (new project) - other 95 egt brought back from the dead (bomb around ride) - 2000 zx2 s/r 122,000km (circle track race car) - 2000 f150 lightning supercharged 4x4 (been sitting for about 4 years) - 1984 mazda b2200 with the 2.2 perkins diesel (just a sweet ride). Pretty sure I have a few more sitting at the farm. Always built. Never bought.

When you do a master kill switch all your power has to flow threw the switch... So that means battery positive wire has to go from the battery to the kill switch on one side and then from the other side of the kill switch out to the rest of the car...

You also have to tie your alternator charging wire into this as well... Your charging wire will come off your alternator and run directly to the kill switch and hook into the same side of the switch as your battery... This makes all the power flow threw the switch before out to your car...

The switch also has to be clearly marked "on" and "off"
To test the switch you fire up the car... With it running go and turn the switch off... It has to kill the car and all power threw out the car...

If you need some pictures I can take some of my car... I installed a master kill switch on it so that I was legal to race at the local 1/4 mile with my battery relocated to the trunk...

Thank you for the reply. I would love pictures if you don't mind.

You dont need to send me pictures. I reread the rules and it states that as long as it kills the motor and the alternator doesn't keep it running it is legit. If I relocated my battery I would have to do what you did (i did not relocate). I figured out the most simple method to do this, I think anyway. I pulled the PCM fuses till the car died and used spade connectors to plug into the fuse box with an inline fuse on the hot side. I ran that to a switch right under the steering column and it works like a charm. I forget which number it is but it was on the lowest level, second to the right, 15 amp circuit. Best part is it is totally reversible minus the small hole drilled.

Glad to hear it worked out for... I relocated my battery to the trunk so thats why I had to do it the way I did... I also had to put the battery in an aproved sealed battery box with it vented to the out side...
