When you turn your car on... does it return the favor?

I don't know how helpful this is, but the light itself is supposed to be connected to a white / red stripe wire. Good luck

So did mine! Along with a washer warning light... but no door open light.

the DX has all the wiring necessary to accomplish this task, short of the cluster (for non convienience package equipped DX's) and the sender unit inside the tank. i will look for pictures of the protege fuel pump to facilitate description of what i mean, but i think the description should be adequate.
                  Ok
so i just need a fumes sniffer then which somehow works using ground

I think instead of "sniffing," it uses a current or something to check the conductivity of the fluid.
