90 Pro 4WD rear struts question

Searched a few times but didn't find what I was looking for. I'm needing Information on replacing my rear struts in a 90 4WD protégé. I'm not wanting to gut my old ones(at least not till it's paid off) I'd like to get OEM stock type like the KYB's on it now but not wanting to drop $230.00 each from the local dealership. All the sites I've been to have listings for FWD only. If anyones got info on this it would be greatly appreciated. I'd love to be able to drive my baby again when it's below 30Deg F. outside.

I thing that 4WD protege has different knuckle not strut, correct me if I am wrong.
Try www.corksport.com they have KYB GR-2 for 77 bugs.

Thx I've emailed them since they closed on Sundays. I'm not sure bout the knuckle. All the struts I've looked at on-line say "exc. 4wd" so i just figure they are a diff size or mounting style. Either way I'd hate to get new shiny parts just to have to give them back for not fitting.

For that price you're probably better off going with upgraded struts anyway... they will quite possibly be cheaper.

Derrick from corksport says "I can get a european bilstein for the 4wd model. They are a decent ride but stiffer than stock. The sell for $110 each if you are interested."

They're half the price Mazda wants but still kinda steep. I saw the Gabriels on jcwhitney but they were for 187.00 each and they were fully assembled(spring and all). I don't think I need new springs just want something that doesn't freeze solid when it's cold outside. It's kinda hard on the tire. Also found a kyb on Nopi's site but need to contact them for more info.
