    Ideas/sources for cheap rotors/calipers/good pads

Well it seems going by the receipts and the fact that the break paddle is alittle "soft" i should change the above on my 93 EGT! It seems the rotors were only machined a few times but never replaced BUT the rear calipers were replaced about 80k ago and fronts not at all so uhh yeah. I found some brembos for about $38 a pop and rebuilt calipers for uhh $40 a pop and i guess i'm going EBC greens as i wanna auto-x, etc.! Comments, ideas, complaints? BRING IT!
**SOLD** 93 EGT with more suspension mods then your average riced out civic's # of decals + useless "bling/style/culture" mods! **SOLD**

escort front calipers have an issue with the slide pins, they like to freeze up and **** up the brakes. when you pull the brakes apart to put new pads in, put some of the copper high-temp anti-seize on the slide pins and you shoud be okay. they don't cause a soft pedal though, so i think your problem is with something else. usually that's caused by air in the lines, so i would start with bleeding the brakes and check the lines, etc. go through the brake system and inspect everything.

My pedal has always been a little soft, in my case it doesn't effect braking POWER, but it means I have to push the pedal down a little further. Since I had the brake lines, rotors, etc. replaced recently and the brakes have been bled a few times, and it didn't really change much, I assumed they were made that way.

negatory, it might be your master cylinder... well.. in my case i believe it is the master cylinder, tried everything to fix the clutch problem, but still, i had a low clutch feeling. meaning the pedal only began to engage the clutch when you let it go nearly all the way, tried bleeding it, tried changing the slave cylinder, tried bleeding the brakes as well, nothing worked, usually if i pump twice while braking, then the pedal stiffens up to where it should be, if not, then it goes down like twice as much -.-
i figured it being the master cylinder because it's affecting both my clutch and brake. good luck

Excuse my stupidity but thrust bearings?! I'm changing the rotors not the bearings under the hub no?!

You'd need new thrust bearings if you were to get the ZX2 struts. And they are located between the strut mounts and the strut; so you can steer...
If you can't differentiate between brake and break, you should go back to school

assuming your car is the 93 escort that comes with 4 wheel discs...

KVR Carbon Fibre/Kevlar pads are $46.00 USD

click the link in my sig and it'll take you to my KVR thread...
get OEM solid vented rotors and it'll work nicely...

even if you're not interested in the KVR stuff, still go to the thread i made and it explains cross drilled rotors a bit, and why they're a waste of money
