    strut question?

I was wondering if there is anyway to remove the strut perch and thrust bearing without using a spring compressor? The reason is I'm going to the junkyard tomorrow to pull some 97+ escort perches so I don't have to modify my stock ones for the ZX2 S/R's. Any help would be appreciated.

Today if I can get the perches. Plus I'm getting my 205/50-15's mounted on fan blades, and eventually an alignment.

BTW- should I wait to get an alignment done? Do the springs have to settle or something?

edit: Did you know the rear H&R's are progresive, seems weird that only the backs are.

Maybe because weight can go up or down in the black depending on what your loading yet the front won't really change much?!

I got my strut perches from a junk yard, just go to advanced auto parts and rent one. Took about 30 minutes to get both perches and they even had the metal thrust bearings in them, but I already ordered brand new bearings.
