    DX to LX brake conversion...

I've checked many part numbers and I'm posting them here to make sure I'm getting the right parts for a front brake conversion:

    front spindles: 1g pro = 2g, 3g escort

front caliper, caliper bracket, rotor: crappy (smaller) 1g pro = crappy 2g escort ; good (larger) 1g pro = 2g EGT and all 3g escort

In that case, I should get front calipers and caliper brackets from a 3g escort because theyre newer. I still have 13" steel nasty wheels, so I'll need 14 or larger. I'll buy the rotors new.

Now for the rear... is the swap to rear disks worthwhile for braking performance, and are mx3 rear disks better than pro rear disks and is that worthwhile and possible (without changing the rear subframe)?

    Thanks.

OK, it looks like front spindles are actually different for DX and LX. Now is this true for spindles?

    1g pro lx = 2g EGT, 3g escort
    1g pro dx = 2g escort

In other words, can I take the whole front spindle/caliper assemblies from a 3g escort?

didn't know that the 3g Escort has the same brakes as the 2g EGT.

Since your starting with the DX, most just swap the LX brakes on and go with some
        Brembo rotors
upgraded pads (Hawk, Axxis, EBC... you get the idea)
        SS lines
        Dot4 fluid

your set... That setup is more than enough stopping power than you'll need for street/moderate track use.

There were a couple of threads about swapping on some RX-7 calipers since they use a dual piston instead of the single on the LX/DX/EGT caliper. Needs a custom bracket and some other stuff for it to work.

        Pics of your car?
The T3 BP MX-3 conversion has begun, and is taking forever & will kill me.

Here are some pics that I posted while doing the swap:

          Well, here's the deal:

When I go to www.partsamerica.com, I see that the crappy brakes for 1g pro, 2g escort use the same part numbers. I also see that 1g pro lx brakes and 3g escort also have the same part numbers. I would rather take the 3g escort because theyre newer.
