Hmm. So it sounds like they don't fit on the stock struts then?

Ok sweet!! Right now 3 out of 4 of my stock springs are broken along with both front strut mounts. So I'll be busy when the new springs come in! He he!!

3 broken springs? Ouch :S car sit for a long time in the winter or something? Takes a lot of pressure snap springs on a protege. MX-3 GSs are notorious for it.

How long ago did you install the 'st' struts? I'm curious to see how long they'll last in your friends car, heard they wear out quickly.

Nope. They just rusted through and broke. They had a hole drilled through them from the factory about 6 inches up from the bottom coil. Needless to say they rusted and broke right at that hole!
