    rear strut mounts

    are the rear strut mounts also spring perches??? i have looked online for spring perches for the rear and haven't found anything so im kinda wondering. can anyone tell me for sure

      The answer is yes. The OEM rear mounts are the upper perch as well

          Yeah. that stops the strut shaft from punching out the center pipe that is molded into the rubber strut mount. It's more of a precaution if you have a stock spring style setup. But an equivalent is needed 100% if you have a coilover setup. Since the pressure is shifted to the center.

          Overall. Your answer is no. It's not "really" needed. But it's good to have in there. It also takes up space so when you tighten down the top nut you don't run out of thread. Too bad they rust out so easily

            an equivalent is needed for a coilover setup?? i just slapped my ground controls in there...

              They come with a solid aluminum tophat. That does the trick the same as the ghetto stock steel tophat.

              If I remember right I added in some washers. I'll check again to see what i did last time. Since the rear struts are getting yanked out in about an hour from now.
