Need Help With Emergency Brake Adj

Well I need help with this because I put to my DX Protege a Complete set of Escort GT brakes but I am having problems with the adjustment of the emergency brake it doe't stay adjusted it last for about 3 days when I adj it
I have a old school friend that told me the brake pump or the proportional valve on the stock oem 4 disc car are not the same as mine that was original desing for rear drum.

Please need help with this ASAP
    Will appreciate your help
    Thanks

have you adjusted it with the allen screw?
the proportioning valve is different. altho im not sure weather or not it would be better to swap or not. testing the PSI to the rear lines on both disc/drum would be ideal to find out which'd be better.

im still using the original 323 drum proportion valve
most likley you need to rebleed the system and then adjust the ebrake's throw first(on the handle adjust the nut so the ebrake is only 8 clicks up) then set the allen screw all the way till the brakes are clamped down, and then back off a 1/2 turn.

yes, I have adj the allen but the problem is, it last for 2 or 3 days and it gets loose again. When they are adj the car stops very fast but not for long 2 or 3 days and I have to re adj it again.

Thats what I think, That they are getting loose, but why? how can it be?
Thats why am asking if the master cylinder or the proportional valve are different on the 4 disc and the rear drum car's.

Your rear disk brakes have a return spring(s) to retract the parking brake once the lever is moved to off(horizontal)...

The rear disc brakes use a ~six mm allen wrench to set the tension/grip between pads and rotor(parking brake adj)...the rear wheels should spin freely with parking brake off???(really)normal brake pedlal action grips the wheels...on my escort gt i use a broom handle to apply pressure to the brake pedal while i spin the rear wheels(rear on jackstands) , a handy one man operation...

anyway; one fix might be to loosen some grip via the 6mm adjustment on the rear caliper so the wheels spins more freely... new parking brake cables can be found on e-bay new for ~cheap...raybestos part #

I thought the regular brake system is hydraulic and the emergency brake is cable operated. Either the brake cable adjustment is coming loose because there should be a 2nd nut to hold the main nut in place in place keep it from coming loose. Or your emergency brake cable is stretched giving a lot of slack.

it might be the allen key adjustment bolt thats coming loose on you. see if you can fit something inside to keep the adjustment bolt from loosening.

maybe slip in a small bolt or something.

Where are the proportioning valves? is it under the car near the rear brakes or is it under the hood?

I was cking out and found the proportional valve are different but a little expensive do you guys think this is my problem.

Because I dont have problems making the adjusments the problem is the time it last.

Maybe the proportional valve has a internal ck valve or somthing different inside to prevent the piston of comming all the way back when you dpress the pedal instead of the cylinder that has to return the pistons all the way in when the brake pedal is dpress.

What you think I have a point.

proportioning valve will have no effect on the ebrake cable coming loose .. (all we're looking @ here is the mechanical portion of the system not the hydraulic) what you will have to look for (or be more specific on ) is what infact is coming loose. yes the proportioning valve is different from disc rears to drum rears ( different bias) but that isnt the issue .. are the cables new? new cables tend to stretch. are the pads getting incredibly abnormal wear due to dragging?
