theres a fitment problem when using "XX" chassis discs on BG's *hat depth*
its largely up for grabs what i'll do right now....... i have slightly larger fronts with the F2T brakes. i know i need slightly more in the rear as the bias is already weak from factory---Has ClubProtege helped you in someway? show your support by Contributing--- Click Here---

not sure if you guys already found rotors for the 5 lugs in 15" wheels but here are a some possible options for diameters you guys are looking for. looks like the mounting depths are fairly close...
93+ mr2 came with 15's
93-95 turbo mr2 came with 15's and had 10.83" (275mm) x 1.102 (29.845mm) front and 11.06" (281mm) x1.575" (21mm) rear rotors.

bg/ec chassis rotor
So i figured, might as well do a comparison of the hat depth.
so the bg rotor is 10.1 or 257mm has a hat depth of 39mm or 1.535" with .87" or 22.1mm
the 10.83" or 275mm front mr2 rotor has a hat depth of 1.610" or 40.894mm for a dept difference of of 0.379" or 9.636mm... quite a bit
the 11.06" 281mm rear mr2 rotor has a hat depth of 1.575" or 40.05mm for a dept difference of of 0.040" or 1.05mm... i think this one should be pretty good if it clears the caliperLast edited by steeb; 09-03-2011, 11:45 AM.

1mm is sustainable by all means. 2-5mm is more practical if you have to shift the OE caliper. depending on rotor thickness of course & or if your switching to another type of caliper.

what do you mean by sustainable?
im used to dealing with inches and mm's at the same time with wheel specs and such so it didnt really bother me figuring out measurements. what i thought was weird was how brembo uses either inches or mm's for their measurements instead of choosing one or showing both
i edited the posts and added some more rotor dimensional information for clarification.

I am sorry if that's a dumb question - are we looking for BA V6 spindles (the piece which is connected to the arms/tie rod etc) or BA V6 bearing hubs (the part which the wheel is attached to?)

The spindle is the steering knuckle. The large cast iron part which connects the strut to the lower control arm. That is the part you need because it has a different caliper mount spacing which allows other caliper brackets to be used. The BA bearing hub is a 5 bolt hub so unless you want to convert to 5 lug wheels you need to push them out and push in the BG hubs with new bearings.

So, BG has different distance between caliper mounting holes. Is there any known DIY bracket design for BG spindles? the problem with the BG spindle is that is uses a different design than other cars for the brake calipers. A BG caliper bolts directly to the mounting tabs and the pads slide down snugly between the tabs. Other cars like the Subaru, Gen1 626 and Millenia the calipers mount to a bracket which is bolted to the spindle. This allows for a lot more interchangeability. Because of the shape and position of the stock BG tabs they wind up being in the way when you try to mount any other caliper with anythign smaller than like a 12" rotor. A couple of other guys out there have modified their stock spindles to accept a bracket or whatever. that's up to you.

Ok, so I've read this thread, and the various 5-lug threada, and I have a few questions for an idea. From reading this and cross referencing info from Probetalk, I've gathered that the entire front spindle/hub/brake setup from a 2nd gen MX-6/Probe will bolt into the front of a BG car. From here I've gathered that the entire rear spinde/hub/brake setup of a 1st gen MX6/Probe/626 will bolt into the rear of a BG car. The rear I'd gladly do as it is just to get rear discs. My question is, can the 1st gen MX6/Probe/626 setup use the Subaru 2-pot calipers? I'm seeing that you guys are using the 1st gen MX6/Probe/626 brake bracket for the Subaru calipers, but are there other factors that keep this from working on the GD spindle?
I don't really care about 5-lug, but I already have the 2nd gen probe's complete front setup, so it'd reduce my costs a lot if I could use those parts for the 2-pot swap, which I feel is a good idea(along with bigger rotors). I plan to buy some aftermarket wheels anyway and they're the same price for 4 or 5-lug.
