    Coilover sleeve spring replacement?

I might end up buying a cheapo coilover sleeve kit, but i'll want to replace the springs before i use them.

Just wondering how tall the replacement springs should be? I know of a good company AFCO that makes replacement 2.625" coil springs.

Would 10" be to tall for the front or rear? I'd only want to lower the car around 2".

i have as well. its not worth it. by the time you buy a new full set of springs and have them shipped you could have just bought ground controls. . . and you know they'll be right.

I would never purchase ground controls. Their springs are just to short for my liking. I'd like to actually have adjustability in the rear, not just 'maxed all the time'.

I'll probably look into this once summer comes since College doesn't help you save money.

Hey, we're from Ontario as well.
If you click here you'll be directed to the suspension section of our website, where you could purchase replacement springs for your Ground-Controls in any size or spring rate.

We'll even buy back your old springs from you once they were in good shape. Let me know if you're interested, and shipping is free on the spring purchases

You just have to call GroundControl, they will send you any rate and length you want, if you ask... That's how I built my first set of rally struts on my last car.

You shouldn't even consider ground controls if you think the back needs to be fully raised. If you want proper handling and camber in the back, it needs to be quite a bit lower than all the way up...

That being said if you're not racing the car, I would NOT suggest buying ground controls period.

The back does fully need to be raised if you cut the spring perches...or this is what i've read!

As for 'proper camber' ill be getting crash bolts.

As for racing, I will be.

I want height adjustment. I drive the car in the winter.

                    Period.

Why would you remove the perches? There is no need to.

As far as crash bolts... [if you want to be competitive at all] they won't give you enough camber up front. You'll need to get camber plates. In the back, if it's low enough, you can get -1.7' maybe even more without any camber mods if you have a good alignment guy, which is plenty.

Also just so you know, changing the car from race to winter height and vice-versa will really mess the alignment up, and you'll want to get it aligned when you do that.

Just double up on the camber bolts, I got 2.3* in the front and 2.0* in the rear with the H&R Triple C bolts. Whole season of racing, zero slippage!

What kind of racing are you doing Jack, solo2 or solosprints?

Chris, 2.3 still isn't ideal, I'd shoot for -3 degrees for next season
