    Need Pads

I am going to be needing to replace my front pads soon, and I was wonder if any one has some recommendations on which pads will give a the most bang for the buck in this economy?

The ones that I currently have are the Advanced auto parts wear-ever silver brand. I am thinking of try out some other kind and also rebuilding the front brake calipers.

I like Hawk street performance pads... breaking is great, fade is practically non-existant, and they last.

I believe in good pads and cheap rotors ftw

EBC Greens for cheap and long lasting.

I run Yellows, but they're scary on the street when cold.

I second the EBC Greens. Had them on my BG 323, and currently have them on my BJ Protege. Great pads for the money. Drastic improvement over stock, even on cheapo rotors. Buy them. Love them.

A friend of mines told me the other day that he had the duralast pads from Autozone for a while and Autozone had give him new ones for free because the whore out and the life time warranty covers that.

Any one have experience with Duralast pads?

I'm running duralast gold ceramics front and duralast gold non ceramic in back. Lifetime warrenty and if you drive normal most of the time(unlike 90% of the crazy drivers responding on this thread lol) then they're fine. I've had the fronts on for around 3-4 yrs and like them. They barely throw any dust and the warmer they get the better they grip.

                          Well excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me, sir.

Maybe some of us use our cars in sanctioned events. :D

But on a serious note, these cars need all the help they can get in the braking department. These are some seriously dinky brakes.

I went with the Duralast Gold simi-matalic, since they cost more then the ceramics which must mean that the are butter, I think. The last ones I had before were the Advanced Autoparts brand wearever siver which also come with a life time warranty but it only covers defects. So my pads weren't covered.

While I was changing the pads everything looked good until I pulled back the dust boot and brake fluid started coming out. So being the poor collage student that I am, I had to rebuild them my self. I found it helpful to put the old seal underneath the dust boot to get it to stay on the grooves long enough to put the steal snap ring to hold it in place.

The snap rings that came with the advance true torque brand were too small so I had to use the old ones.
