Pics!
New wheels and tie bar:
Buckle up, it's going to be a long trip.
When I got home. Stuck the center cap in to see if I got the right ones. I did
I think it's seen better days.
You can still read this, though.
OEM Mazda center caps.
Oh no. It's just the paint chipping, though. No actual wheel damage.
Made by Enkei.
The whole gang. The color on the top two (especially the right one) is a little off (yellowish/goldish) compared to the silver center caps. The bottom two match perfectly.
Anybody know where I can find a refurbishment shop around upstate New York?
I might order one more from ebay as a fullsize spare.Last edited by irishkev90; 02-03-2011, 10:51 PM.

After further inspection, it appears that a DIY repair and paint will be in the future for these wheels when the weather is nice. Only one wheel has some real damage to it, but still just minor scrapes at the edge of the rim. Some bondo or maybe aluminum putty will fix it no problem.
This the the worst of it all and it's not even that bad. It goes for about 8-9" around the rim (from one spoke to the next):
(I need an actual camera. I deleted probably 50 pics before finally giving up and using that one. The HTC Incredible has a great camera, takes amazing photos, but up close like that it just doesn't want to focus how I want it to.)Last edited by irishkev90; 02-03-2011, 11:08 PM.

Enkei is most likely Mazda's OEM wheel supplier. Or at least used to be, I don't know what Mazda uses now.
It also proves the quality of Enkei wheels. OEM wheels have a higher quality standard than just supermarket wheels. If a manufacturer can supply a company with OEM equipment, then their aftermarket products are also of a higher quality then a company that doesn't supply OEM parts.

That's okay, I'll have some other stuff to do until that stuff gets here.
Also, I don't think I posted it here, but I could be getting a g-series trans and some other small stuff to start a transmission swap. Still going to need the pedal assembly, clutch lines, etc. Can't wait to really do some work to this thing.
