    Hole in the oil pan.

OK, it's not a hole, it's an opening. What is it for?

This opening shows up on all 95+ ATX BP oil pans. There's a "blind cap" that is supposed to cover it (part# B6S7-10-498), but I never got one with the engine. Anyway... Why the hell is there an opening there?

bruce said the same thing. you MIGHT need a new oil pan, is there any way to know for sure? i'd check with the tranny i have lying around, but it and the engine are seperated by about 3hours.

this concerns me because i have an engine from an atx model as well.

It bolted up fine. Charles saw the hole when he was threading the smaller bolts on the bottom.

Yeah dude, it works. Can't you see the flywheel through that hole? And the bolts going through the oil pan... and the tranny on the other side?

        Stupid automatics.

Yeah, strange. The Z5 starter bolted up fine.

Whatever... I have the starter that came with the tranny, so I'll use that. No big deal. Just 3 bolts.

I'm using my Z5 MT Starter on my BP motor. The car cranked although i am having fuel problems which limits my car.
