water pump help 96 LX

its a 1996 pro lx,

i replaced the tstat today, but thats not the problem reguarding it overheating.

its sounds like the water pump is bad ( or on its last leg)

does anyone have

or some kind of advice on how to go out replacment of a water pump.

i am mechanical ( repair forklifts, and conveyor systems for IKEA) but have never done a water pump.
