bpt swap in a 1998 mazda protege (stock 1.5L)

hey im new to this website. i need some help. im from hamilton ontario canada, and i have a 1998 mazda protege, i have bought a bpt gtx motor and i need some help with finishing up my swap. i bought the motor from tiger apanese in toronto and they gave me the bpf3 ecu for the motor, which is for the miata, im wondering if i can use this ecu?? and also which is the absolute best transmission for this swap?? i was leaning towards a 94 ford escort gt transmission but im not sure if it will work/fit in my protege. can someone please help me!! it would be great! thanks

Yeah, too much man, unless you're paying a guy to do the swap.

You will need the left and right engine mounts ,not sure if the front and rear will interchange but they might.
The escort tranny should bolt up OK but you will need proper axles, you will need to make sure the spline count matches. When using a g series tranny in the BH body you will need axles from a BP second gen Protege. The axles are
Thicker and have different lengths than your 1.5,also you should swap front
spindles as the hubs now are larger too(where the axles go through) and the brakes are larger on the BP engine. The splines on the Diff on the escort tranny may be smaller than the BH BP car.I used an aftermarket diff when i installed the G tranny and upgraded to the BP axles.

the absolute best trans for your application is going to be the one from a 1994 - 1997 KIA Sephia with the 1.8L DOHC.

yea i have a bunch of other parts in the bpt. flywheel, clutch, injectors, etc. i also put down some serious cash for a custom manifold aswell as a turbo and piping, i paid 1650 for the motor and trans. custom 3" exhaust hgih flow cat etc. i upgraded the back drums to the LX disc's. mazdaspeed sway bar. familia stock coilovers. so $3000 for everything not just on the motor alone. and thanks alot for giving me the tips. So best bet for a trans is outt of a 94-97 kia? whats the gears like in those? strong?
