head swap 1.5 for 1.8

Can you swap out a 1997 1.5 head for a 1.8 head or is it completely different. I have to get a valve job done and thought i could go with an upgrade if possible. I guess if not possible then i will go ahead with the valve job and just get everything ported and polished as well.
